The Kidrobot pirate store in Chicago seems to have opened some debate but when you really look into the new store you’ve got to say it looks good for both companies. It will pull in so many more customers and I don’t think that anyone who goes to one won’t be paying a visit to the other. Rotofugi basically supported this point of view when we got in contact with them saying the new Kidrobot store would “be helping to raise the profile of designer toys in Chicago”, that they were “proud to stock their products” and summed it up as being “all good”.
So if you’re in or near Chicago this holiday season then pay a visit to both stores and help them out. The goodwill cheer of the season is starting to attack me already!
Happy holidays! (get used to hearing that!)

Wow, this is some seriously awesome breaking news for us! In a follow up to our last post Kidrobot has posted on their forums saying how great Rotofugi is. Got to admit were more than a little bummed out by this, we were hoping for some beef to develop, maybe a fight “round back”.
However to combat our bummed out demeanour they say that when they close out the Chicago store it will set sail for another city. Seems pretty big and definitely a move I don’t think anyone was really expecting. This site was created because vinyl was so hard to find and Kidrobot really seems to have realised that problem. Hopefully they will take it to places that are 6 million light years from their nearest store. So fingers crossed everyone!

In the hard-hitting news world of locations where you can buy vinyl, big news doesn’t come along often. On that note, we were all over the new Kidrobot Pirate store (and this) when we found out about it. Seems like some pretty big news what with Rotofugi so close by.
So some fat ass details for you fact hogs, located at 1573 N. Milwaukee Avenue, the store will be opening on October 4th 2008, will have a floor covering 1,100 sq. feet and will be staying open all the way through the holiday season.
The pop-up store nature of this seems way to big for them not to have spoken it through with Rotofugi first, I’m guessing they believe it will bring in more customers to both locations, why visit one store when you can visit two!
We’ll just have to see how the story develops and if Rotofugi actually come out and say anything about this. For now though were off to drink some rum and cut out our very own eye-patch!
